Students between the ages of seven and eighteen attend Estrellas for three hours a week - and are split into groups according to age. Classes are normally divided into an hour of each of the following disciplines: Drama Drama at Estrellas includes voice work, improvisation, mime & movement, role play, script work, acting for television... and much more! For the younger students, this often takes the form of drama 'games' designed to encourage learning through play. Drama is an excellent tool for developing self-confidence, communication skills, social awareness and teamwork. Singing Provided with live piano accompaniment, students are taught to sing naturally and are instructed in correct breathing techniques. The students are exposed to a wide variety of musical genres, helping them to find their own voice. Solo singing is encouraged, but by no means mandatory. Singing is an fantastic form of artistic expression and helps improve rhythm, concentration, memory and listening skills. Dance Apart from being a great form of exercise, dance is invaluable for improving posture, coordination and presentation skills. Each class starts with a thorough warm-up, followed by work on technique. The children then learn routines inspired by musical theatre and the latest pop videos. Some weeks we may bring in Guest Artists from the UK, the US or the Spanish mainland to give master classes and teach workshops. Estrellitas (performing arts classes for 'little stars') Children between the ages of four to six participate in Estrellitas - special classes designed to act as an introduction to the performing arts. These classes cover all three disciplines in 1 ½ hours. Other classes In addition to the main school, we also offer additional classes in ballet, tap and advanced drama (LAMDA Examination Syllabus). Private singing lessons are also available. All of the above classes are offered outside of normal academy hours. Prices vary, so please contact us for details.
